Located in the Cayo district, this family run lodge is the gateway for adventure in Belize. Mayan Ruins, jungle tours or lazy days by the pool are all on the menu.

Belize, formerly the British Hondorus, is a small country, tucked under Mexico and outlined by the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. Famous for diving at the Blue Hole and the second largest barrier reef in the world, visitors often overlook the adventures that await them onshore, deep in the jungle. The Belize Jungle Dome Lodge offers a jumping off point for those wanting more from their vacation than just beach and surf.

Belize Jungle Dome Lodge

Minutes outside of the Belizean capital of Belmopan, the Belize Jungle Dome is an oasis of comfort. Wireless access, air conditioning and satellite TV await the visitor after an exhilarating day of exploration. On the banks of the Belize River, surrounded by its own organic citrus orchard, this charming bed and breakfast offers a peaceful slice of tropical paradise.

Each of the five rooms available offers a different configuration catering to families, small groups, honeymooners or singles. Meals, cooked with mostly organic local fare, are created on the premises and offer a variety of Belizean foods along with American and European dishes. Special requests and dietary restrictions are easily accommodated. Served at a communal table, guests gather to share the experiences of the day, reliving every exciting moment. A more romantic setting can be requested for honeymooners or others wanting a private eating experience.

Green Dragon Adventure Travel

The Jungle Dome is the starting point for day trips booked through Green Dragon Adventure Travel. The ancient Mayan ruins of Tikal (in neighboring Guatemala), Cahal Pech, Xunatunich and Carocol are offered along with horseback riding, boat and bike tours. Explore Chechem Ha cave, visited by only 300 people a year, and see remnants of Mayan pottery and ceremonial altars left untouched for over a thousand years. Kayak through the cave at Barton Creek where skeletal remains have melded with stone, forever capturing the secrets of their deaths. Zip line through the jungle canopy for views of native flora and stop by the Belize Zoo for a behind the scenes tour that allows for feeding of monkeys, parrots and jaguars. A licensed Belize tour guide heads each tour and is hand selected by the Green Dragon and Jungle Dome staff.

Andy Hunt and Simone Engein

The owners of The Jungle Dome left behind soccer fields and the bright lights of performing to fashion a life for themselves in the jungles of Belize. Andy, a former Professional soccer player wore jerseys for Newcastle United, West Bromwich Ablion and Charlton Athletic Football Club. Simone, a former MTV VJ and professional singer, was a television personality who hosted multiple award shows and was an original member of the jury for the German TV series, “Pop stars”. Together this English/Dutch couple has created a comfortable family-oriented home that is open to visitors who share the same passion for adventure and wondrous beauty of Belize and its people.
